THE JOURNEY OF CHOO CHOO ZEN
Thinking Outside the Box Car
On the Make Believe Express

Zen and the Thinking Man's Choo-Choo

Welcome to the Urban Legend Railroad Scale Model Shows Video Magazine... Presented on  Website  &  YouTube... Starring... Storyboard Notes for make believe construction... comic book  characters all over the train... with circus train poster pandemonium of three rings... and sometimes a great notion or two.

***When this Whistle Blows... It is off to the Eclectic and Ethereal***

So now the railroad becomes a metaphor steaming through the world of mind and imagination for you guys and gals that like to take a railroad break.... for the simple act of watching a train, or  landscape, or website go by and by... What ever the scale or prospective.

Video Magazine is a simple metaphor and expedient label for my format, but moreover, the  multiple  formats for this video publication I desire to present...  We have a railroad which is a conveyance and we have a track which is the conduit... and then there is everything else for exploration when you pass through the station and meet the universe...

You see... with metaphor you can go anywhere... do anything... Like in a cartoon... a storybook... or a dream you have full control of... Urban Legend Scale Model Shows  Video  Magazine is charting  a new course in Visual Stroll Railroading..." The journey of Choo Choo Zen"  In the land of "multiple perspectives" believed in and achieved.

When I started putting this video magazine "project" together on the drawing board of my mind ,  I wanted it to have something for everyone of every age, and every budget, who have a smaller or greater railroad interest... like those who appreciate the "free photo slideshow & hobo hangout"... YouTube videos,  collectible T-shirts, and gear, or those who wish to be the proud owner of a custom-made  regalia filled etch glass topped rich guys urban legend railroad  coffee table, an executive layout for your very  own railroad Den or Depot...

My railroad interest is relatively small compared to others... And mostly commercial, but I ain't against having a little fun. Although some of the content in this magazine will be presented in a sometimes slick and contemporary manner, it will also have a 19th century flavor, as we approach that time zone, and then in the 20th century time zone there will be pages reminiscent of all the wacky things on the back of a 1950s comic book and cereal box, plus the exploration of other fantasy time zones of imagination & metaphor.

Lower Case Architecture...... by Robb Rich

Some would say that my interest in the train was greater then it is... when in fact it is the Architecture  that I'm really a fan of... scale model architecture to be precise... All kinds of structures... from a great edifice, or  towers  of giddy capitalism, to a lowly old outhouse seen from a country road... And my question is always, how can I reproduce that faithfully  in scale and color match?

The Architectural State of Mind

The railroad is what gives movement to a layout, and also compassionately allows  grown men to play with little houses... And play with little houses indeed, with a turn to hard work... I coined a phrase... I call it "Lower Case Architecture" and it is a very serious but wonderful art form in itself... whether it be a kit, kit bash, or scratch build effort.

Making models, and scale models is as old as man himself and in the center  is perspective... and the desire to achieve excellence  for  perspective. One of these perspectives is the use of airbrush, color mixing, and weathering to achieve that "mood striking" result of realism, and that look  everyone feels, and knows in their heart when they see  really well made models  that bring you on a "Visual Stroll"

To capture your imagination and hold your interest fast.

Most people would be surprised at how many times they see or experience the use of scale models in their lives, in communication or  entertainment... When I lived and worked in Hollywood... way back in 1977... I was told a story about  when the first preview of Star Wars was shown... fans were waiting outside to get autographs of the model makers...

Now all that said and much much more to come... This publication will  be packed with  good old fashioned  wholesome imaginative  fun, and educational content  to the best of my ability and as talents allow.

Here's what's coming down the track...

Starting with models of the time... Scale Model Shows and their presentation in a photo array with or without dioramas, with  wonderful etched  glass topped, regalia filled coffee tables as their vessels,... little movies on YouTube...stories , and ghost stories around the campfire, articles, puns, visitor page, bulletin board, balloon rides, a dinosaur park tour... a place to put your feet up.....(what to read on the train...book reviews,) games, contests ,prizes, mugs, limited edition gift shop offerings, T-shirts, gear, and apparel, tutorials, idea bank, product development for mom and pop start ups, or corporate manufacture.
